Taking place in York from Saturday 15th till Sunday 23rd February, the annual JORVIK Viking Festival will be celebrating its 36th edition this year. Organised and funded by the York Archaeological Trust, JORVIK Viking Festival is a city-wide celebration of York’s rich Norse heritage and is recognised as the largest event of its kind in Europe.
The theme of the event this year is called‘Voyages of the Vikings’, and there is an exciting list of events catered to all ages including live entertainment, tours, talks, markets, history encampments, workshops, and dramatic combat performances, which will keep everyone entertained.
This family-friendly event has been recently awarded the Best Festival for Kids by the Little Vikings, as voted by the public, and has also been shortlisted for Event of the Year award in the Visit York Tourism Awards for 2020.
